Got contacted about 20 days after applying to set up an initial phone screen that same week. Two business days after that, I got an invite for a Zoom interview with the Hiring Manager, which we set for the following week because of my schedule. The week after that, I had two more interviews. After the final one, it took 3 business days to get an offer. The recruiters were great with communication, and scheduling was a breeze with options given.

The interview process included an HR screen, a technical interview, and a final panel with five engineers. No presentation was needed. Overall, it was a good experience. They asked many first-principle questions and some design scenario questions. The VG engineering team seems more interested in your future potential than your current knowledge. It's fine if you don't perfectly match the job description, as long as you demonstrate your ability to learn new skills and knowledge.

So after seeing that first rocket powered flight of SpaceShipTwo back in April '18, I went ahead and applied online. I made sure to include a cover letter that was pretty complimentary, really talking up how impressed I was with the flight and how I thought my experience would be a great fit for what they were doing. A few days later, I got an email asking me to do a Spark Hire one-way video interview. It was kinda weird at first, talking to my webcam, but I got used to it. After that, they sent me an avionics quiz. It was a file with 8 questions, and I had to get them back within 8 hours of getting the email. I actually spent almost the full 8 hours on it, but I passed! Then they invited me for the on-site interview. The on-site was set up with 3 groups, 2 interviewers in each group, and I spent an hour with each group. After that, we got a tour of the facility! During the tour, they asked me some questions about how familiar I was with certain avionics design stuff on the vehicles. Finally, I met with someone from HR. The whole thing took about 5 hours. They gave me an offer within days of the on-site. It was a really interesting and challenging process, and everyone at TSC was super professional.

It started with a quick phone chat with the Recruiter, then another phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, it was an on-site interview. The on-site part was pretty chaotic; some people weren't there, and others seemed unprepared. The folks who were there seemed like the SpaceX burnouts, which came with a bit of arrogance and some really impressive skills. I could tell I wasn't their top pick about an hour in, but they went ahead with the interview anyway, including a weird "skills test" and a facility tour. The panel seemed kind of cold, making me think they're a stressed-out group with a bad work culture.
