I made it to the second round. The first interview was a get-to-know-you phone call. The second was an online video call with two team leads. We had a brief chat to get acquainted and discuss my knowledge of the company, followed by some technical questions.

It started with a quick phone chat with the Recruiter, then another phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, it was an on-site interview. The on-site part was pretty chaotic; some people weren't there, and others seemed unprepared. The folks who were there seemed like the SpaceX burnouts, which came with a bit of arrogance and some really impressive skills. I could tell I wasn't their top pick about an hour in, but they went ahead with the interview anyway, including a weird "skills test" and a facility tour. The panel seemed kind of cold, making me think they're a stressed-out group with a bad work culture.

I applied online and heard back in December for a 30-minute phone chat. The department director did the interview and asked a bunch of technical stuff about the specific department. I got an email from HR at Virgin Galactic, and we set up the phone interview pretty quickly, within a week. The call started right on time, which was nice. It's a bit tricky with phone interviews because you can't read facial expressions, making it hard to gauge how you're doing just from their voice.
