First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UpGuard.
Account Manager
The UpGuard interview process kicks off with a chat with a Talent Partner about your background and the gig. Then, you'll have a technical interview with the Hiring Manager to dive deeper into your skills and how you've handled things before. If you move on, you'll get a practical task to do within five days, and then likely chat about it. After that, there's a culture interview with future coworkers to see if you'd vibe well together. The last step is a sit-down with the CEO or another exec to check out your ambitions, character, and if you're a good fit overall, then they'll make an offer and run background checks.

Marketing Manager
I had a great interview experience at UpGuard. Britt was amazing — super clear about the process, expectations, and next steps at every stage. While it's technically a multi-step process, everything moved quickly and felt very well-managed. Each conversation felt genuinely conversational, not a rigid interview, with thoughtful questions and open dialogue. Even after the final decision, the feedback and follow-up were handled with care and transparency. Overall, a very positive candidate experience.
- What would be your plan for the first 90 days in this position?
Product Manager
The whole process was great. The recruiter knew a lot about the company, how the team is set up, and what they're looking for in a Growth PM at UpGuard. I got to talk to the VP of Product, some people on the team, and the CPO. It gave me a good feel for the job and the company culture. I liked the experience, even though I didn't get an offer this time. UpGuard is still a place I'd like to work, and I'll try again.

Account Executive
So I had an interview with the recruiter and the hiring manager first. Then, I was asked to create some slides and give a mock demo to the SVP of Sales along with the hiring manager. I spent a lot of time preparing for this! About a week after my demo, the recruiter called to say that while they thought I did a great job and would have moved forward, they were pausing hiring for the role because of an internal shift. It was pretty disappointing after putting so much effort into the interview process. I wish they had figured things out before letting me get to the third round.
- Can you share an example of a deal you are most proud of and the reasons behind it?
