It's a really simple process. First, you'll chat with your potential main supervisor, and sometimes a secondary one too. You'll talk about a research plan you might want to do and also answer some other interview questions. The entire process from applying to being interviewed took about 4 months. There were two parts to the interview process: a brief 20-minute Teams call and then a 2-hour interview that included a presentation task. Both interviews had the same two friendly team members. The second interview was in person at the University, and I had to show my passport for scanning before it started. The interview itself was more like a casual chat than a formal one, making it feel less stressful and more like a get-to-know-you session. After the interview, they showed me around the campus offices, explained the university's employee benefits in detail, pointed out lunch spots on campus, and discussed commuting options via bus, which made me feel like I was going to get the job offer.
