Collections Manager
So, this company's hiring process was a letdown right from the beginning. After I applied, I surprisingly got a presentation to prep with a really short deadline, and the job description didn't mention any assessment at all. Then, I had an in-person interview set up with a panel of three, including the hiring manager. I was early for the meeting, but I ended up waiting over half an hour before they let me in, which pretty much ruined the vibe for the rest of the chat. The interview felt rushed, and the hiring manager didn't seem engaged. They acted kind of unprofessional at times, and near the end, they gave me this weird look that made things awkward, especially after I'd gone into so much detail answering their questions. The HR people were good at first, but then they blew past their promised decision date, so I had to chase them for an update, only to get ghosted until an automated message popped up. I later found out they didn't end up hiring anyone, so the whole thing felt like a waste of my time and energy, and honestly made me wonder if those presentations were for something else. All in all, the disorganization, the uncomfortable interview vibe, and the bad communication made this one of the worst hiring processes I've been through, especially with the travel involved. My advice for future candidates is to keep your expectations low and don't get your hopes up too much.

Projects Officer
I was first given a take-home test with less than 48 hours to complete it, which wasn't mentioned beforehand. After submitting the test, I had a virtual interview with three people, including the hiring manager. Even though I logged in early, the meeting started 10 minutes late with no explanation. The rest of the interview felt rushed, and the hiring manager seemed disengaged. HR was responsive but needed prompting for a decision after the expected notification date passed.
- What were your thoughts on the pre-interview test?
Comptabilité
First, we define the needs: we identify the required skills, qualifications, and experience for the role. This often involves creating a detailed job description. Then, we publish the offer: we post the ad on online platforms (like LinkedIn or Indeed), the company's website, or through recruitment agencies. Finally, we receive applications: candidates submit their CVs and cover letters. At this stage, an initial screening is done to select relevant profiles.
- Could you introduce yourself in 3 minutes?
Communications Officer
First, I had to do a comms test where I processed some info into a news article, a newsletter piece, and a Bluesky post. Then, I was interviewed by a panel of 4, including the Principal. It was a straightforward Q&A. I didn't get a great vibe though, some panel members seemed rude and condescending, and I felt there was prejudice against those not educated at Oxford. Some questions seemed to require knowing the university's inner workings.
- What do you think needs to be improved about our website and social media?
- What would be your course of action if a student took an issue with the college to the Daily Mail?
- How would you go about increasing the College's audience?
