Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Oxford.
Project Assistant
It felt like they already had someone in mind for the role. There was a four-person panel who didn't seem interested in anything I said, and the whole interview was really uncomfortable. I felt like it was a complete waste of my time.
- What are your thoughts on what's lacking on our website?
Project Manager
It was a pretty straightforward process. The questions were standard for the role. The interviewers were friendly and approachable, making it a generally pleasant experience.
- Could you tell me about your weaknesses?
Project Manager
After submitting my application online, I was asked to complete a problem-solving test which wasn't too difficult. This was followed by a phone interview with the company's CEO. A couple of weeks later, I had a face-to-face interview with both the CEO and another manager. We had a one-on-one discussion where they asked many questions about my CV.
- Were you more of a businesswoman or a politician?
