First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Miami.
Project Manager
It was a good, lengthy, and thorough interview process. The questions were tough, and it took a couple of months to hear back from the hiring manager. HR was not communicative throughout the entire process.
- Can you describe your experience?
- Could you elaborate on your experience with the job scope?
Assistant Director
After applying, it took about 3 weeks to get an email. The process involved a phone screen with HR, then an interview with the manager, followed by a panel group interview. About two weeks after that, I received a phone offer.
- Can you give me an overview of your resume?
- Describe your approach to management.
- Why do you believe you are the most suitable candidate for this position?
Marketing Intern
It was a really relaxed interview. I spoke with two managers for about 15 minutes about my resume and the job. They asked me about my experience with Adobe software, Wrike, and CMS. The managers were super supportive and nice!
- Can you tell me about your prior digital marketing experience?
- What experience do you have with CMS?
- What experience do you have with Wrike?
Research Associate
The interview process can vary by department. Response rates are very low if you just apply and wait. I know it's not typical, but I'd suggest taking a chance and going in person to show you're proactive. That's how I got an interview, even with a strong background, education, and experience, and I got the job. Most positions go to current UM employees, but it's still possible to get hired.
- What makes you want to join this company?
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
