The interview included behavioral questions and OSHA-related topics. They asked for step-by-step instructions on how to handle harmful substances and heavy objects, focusing on posture. Also, they wanted to know my reaction to external requests from university staff.

PhD Student
It was a pretty standard process for getting a funded PhD position. I submitted my academic CV and cover letter through an online portal that asked for standard info. Then there was a single panel interview with friendly, standard questions. I waited about a month for the results, which felt a bit longer than I expected.

- What do you foresee as the main difficulties during a PhD, and how would you tackle them?

the virtual interview process was really great, the HR team was very responsive and provided quick feedback. Although they initially wanted me to come to the office for the first interview, they accommodated my request for an online interview due to my location, which I really appreciated.

I got ready for a basic skills interview, looking over scenario questions, case studies, and behavioural questions, along with "how to" type questions and the reason I wanted the job. Even though I prepared and tried my best, they didn't pick me for the role.
