Strategy Lead
The process had 4 interviews: HR, local Strategy Director, regional Strategy Director, and local agency Managing Director. The whole thing was virtual on Teams. Everyone was super nice and flexible, giving me options. It was pretty straightforward and happened weekly. They wanted me to start quickly, but we managed it. Overall, it was a good experience, though the salaries are low.
- Can you tell me about your experience in similar roles at previous jobs?
- Can you provide specific examples of your past work?
- What proposals have you made in previous roles?
Associate
It was pretty standard and well organized! The whole process from the first recruiter call to getting the offer took about 3 weeks and involved three 30-minute interviews. I spoke with 3 different team members who asked me typical questions about my past experiences from internships and classes, focusing on my ability to learn quickly and communicate well.
- Can you walk me through the entire lifecycle of a media campaign?
Portfolio Manager
The interview process started out pretty standard, but things got a bit messy during the follow-up. I got a LinkedIn message to set up an initial meeting about the job. After that, I was scheduled for three interviews back-to-back the next week. They were all pretty standard, focusing on personal experience and what the interviewers did. The weird part was after the interviews. I didn't hear anything about next steps until I contacted the recruiter. They gave me a timeframe, but then I heard nothing. I reached out again, and they told me to contact the recruiter *again* a week later. Finally, I was told they went with someone else. The whole thing took about a month, with two weeks of me chasing them for updates. Getting different timelines from the same person and then no updates was really frustrating. UM/IPG seems like a good company, but my experience had some issues with professionalism and organization.
- Can you describe your past marketing work and provide an instance where you handled a team-related problem?
- Could you share an example of a situation where you resolved an issue within your team?
Media Buyer
Recruiter reached out via LinkedIn, had a phone interview and then an in-person group interview. Spoke with 2 people, who are higher up in the company and work with specific accounts. The first person I interviewed with didn’t tell me she was a part of the Coca Cola account until I asked a question which she could not answer. She also critiqued my resume a bit? I also applied for a media buyer position and she didn’t really elaborate on what the person in that position would be doing, it was more for just a general associate role I guess. The email that is sent before the interview in an effort to help you prepare didn’t really help. I feel like I could’ve gotten a better feel for the position and culture and if I interviewed with different people. Also the pay is outrageous
