Behavioral Technical Presentation

For the Senior Product Designer role at Tricentis, I went through about five interviews. It started with an HR screening, then I talked with the design lead, did a portfolio review, interviewed with a product manager, and finished with a discussion about culture and values. The interviewers were great - professional, friendly, and really knew their stuff about the product and where the company is headed. I liked that they made an effort to get to know my background and also left time for me to ask questions. The communication between interview rounds was pretty clear, and things moved along at a good pace.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process with this company was a bit all over the place. When I let them know I was interviewing elsewhere and wanted to speed things up, they actually seemed to drag their feet on scheduling. After the interviews wrapped up, they were slow to get back, and then just sent a canned response saying they went with someone internal. It happened again with a different hiring manager for another role – same outcome, another internal hire. It felt kind of political and like who you knew mattered more than what you knew, which isn't really my scene. Looking back, I'm actually okay that it didn't work out.

The hiring process was excellent, very professional and moved really fast. I was always in the loop about what was going on. The people I talked to were really engaged and happy to share info, even encouraged me to reach out with more questions after our chats. By the end, I had chatted with six team members, which gave me a solid grasp of the job and the team to decide if it was the right fit. I was also impressed with how they had already started prepping me for onboarding before day one, making sure everything would be smooth.

The recruiter call was very professional and indepth. After that I had an interview with the hiring manager in Vienna. It was a 30 min interview. She talked about the company and gave me very little chance to talk about my experience and skills. Then I got the feedback from the recruiter saying I only had some of the skills they were looking for. The reality is that I was never given the chance to talk about my skills and my experience in curriculum planning, designing and developing.
