Technical Coding Behavioral Case

So for the Analyst Strategy role, there were two interview rounds. The first one was all about analytical thinking, and it had this guesstimation question where I had to guess the number of playgrounds in my city. They really cared about how I approached it, the logic, and assumptions, not the final number. The second round, which was about 30 minutes, was a mix of technical stuff, analytical problems, and questions to see if I was a good fit. They asked about my background, my family business, my future plans, if I could relocate, and when I could join. For the technical part, I had to explain how the three main financial statements link together, what breakeven point means, and solve a problem to calculate it using fixed costs and selling price. Oh, and there were a few quick mental math questions too. Plus, another guesstimation: guessing how many people in Bhagalpur might wear a striped shirt today. It was a pretty structured process, kinda challenging, with a big focus on how I think logically, my math skills, finance basics, and my long-term commitment.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you explain the relationship between the three financial statements?
  • Calculate the breakeven point in tons needed given a machine cost of ₹2.4 lakhs, electricity cost of ₹80,000, and a selling price of ₹1 lakh per ton.
  • What is 11% of 99?

The interview process had 3 rounds: first HR, then technical, and finally a VP interview. The HR screen was pretty straightforward, mainly to verify if candidates met the basic job requirements and passed a checklist. The second round was technical, where they assessed my Excel abilities and asked about my previous work experience, along with some fundamental questions on accounting ratios and journal entries for AP and AR.
