I had my first interview with a recruiter virtually and answered some basic questions. My second virtual interview was with the direct report of the position and I thought it went well. I was told I could expect to hear back the following week about next steps. However, I didn't get any responses to my thank you or follow-up emails from either interviewer until two weeks later when I got an email from a no-reply address with a short message that they were moving forward with other candidates. I would have liked to get feedback on what I could have improved in my interview or application, but also received no response to my inquiry about that. The rejection felt very impersonal, which was disappointing since I put a lot of time into tailoring my resume, cover letter, and preparing for the interviews for a position and company I was very excited about.

I spoke with HR, but they didn't seem to understand the cycling community or how bike shops operate. Trek might think they can just buy local shops and keep the staff, but they're mistaken. They're hiring inexperienced, clueless people who will damage the cycling industry. HR should focus on what a candidate can contribute rather than just if they are humble. Humility doesn't build businesses; it diminishes workers' self-esteem.

I interviewed for multiple positions here, and it felt like my time wasn't valued at all. They set up interviews without asking about my availability, and one chat with a Regional Manager was pretty bad – he seemed totally uninterested. I had to chase them for updates several times, otherwise, I think I would've been ghosted like a lot of other people. My own schedule had to be changed multiple times to fit their interview slots, which they scheduled without considering my calendar. Even after I rearranged things on short notice to fit their requests, I got a rejection email from an unmonitored address. All those months of talking, emailing, and waiting just ended with a generic form letter.

Interview process was casual and seemed to go smooth. First I was contacted by phone for preliminary details. The second follow up interview came within 2 weeks. The 3rd and final interview took place a month after the 2nd interview. The process in total was well over a month. Like many others comments, I was ghosted by Trek and only heard back when I followed up. There is a clear lack of respect for applicants time through the interview process. It's especially disheartening for anyone who has made it to the 3rd round of interviews.
