I applied back in August and had 3 interviews. The first was a 1 on 1 phone call with a recruiter in early August. Then I had another 1 on 1 phone interview with a different recruiter in mid-August. Finally, I had a Teams interview with two senior people the first week of September. The interview went really well and I felt like we were on the same page. I asked if they had any concerns about my background or interview, and they said no, in fact, they really liked my experience and background, even my military experience. They said I'd hear back soon, but it's been a month now. I've emailed 3 times for an update and haven't heard anything back, so I think I've been ghosted. Felt like a waste of my time.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Got a call from the recruiter. She talked about the job's qualifications, what's expected, and the salary/benefits. We went over all the company's requirements, including background and financial checks, to make sure everything would be smooth if I got an offer. Then, she sent a win-win assessment. After that, I had a two-hour interview with the GM. It felt like we were both interviewing each other to see if we'd be a good fit and work well together. We discussed the assessment results. Next, I was set up for an interview with the Finance Manager, a Finance Manager Trainee, and the GM. This interview lasted about an hour. We talked about some management scenarios and mostly got a sense of whether the role was a good fit for all of us. The recruiter called me with an offer. They knew I had other offers and handled it well. I've completed the paperwork for the background checks. The official offer letter will arrive by FedEx tomorrow morning. We discussed and set my start date, and planned for the necessary training. The whole thing took 10 days so far.

You begin by applying online. You'll need to pass a drug screen, and be aware that there will be frequent and random mandatory drug screens throughout your employment. Then, you'll have a 1:1 meeting with the General Manager. The GM will ask you some mechanical questions to get a sense of your knowledge. They'll also show you around the shop. If they decide to hire you, they'll call to let you know your start date. You'll start in training at $12/hour for 30 days, after which your pay will drop to $10/hour plus commission.

The interview experience was good. They assess your IT and customer relations background to find the best fit for you. The idea that someone with no IT experience can be trained if they have good customer skills seems flawed and can lead to frustration. The System Support Manager, Operation Manager, and Senior Support Lead all interview candidates along with a Supervisor for one of the three shifts. Management is transitioning from a technical support setup to a call center, involving various customer interaction levels. Customers call in and select options to route their call to a specialized team trained for specific business needs like upgrades or projects. Calls are routed, but there's also an active Emergency Line for urgent, after-hours issues. Depending on how the customer perceives their need, the Emergency Line might get more calls than the regular queued calls.
