Director of Engineering
The interview process was really thorough and well laid out. It had a bunch of deep dives with important people from around the company, which gave me a good feel for how the team works and what they expect. Plus, they really dug into engineering best practices, how I solve problems, and did some actual coding to see how good I am with the tech.
- Can you describe your strategy for implementing engineering best practices and maintaining code quality in a large-scale environment?
- Please detail a difficult technical problem you encountered and describe the thought process behind your solution.
- How do you ensure engineering efforts are synchronized with product objectives when dealing with various stakeholders?
Applied Scientist
I recently interviewed for a compelling project where I got to showcase my involvement in developing a sophisticated system. Throughout six interview rounds, I thoroughly discussed my contributions to the project, highlighting its complexities and the innovative solutions we implemented. Each round, including the coding assessments, received positive feedback from the interviewers, confirming my technical abilities and problem-solving skills. Unfortunately, despite the positive responses, I didn't get an offer, so I don't have more insight into the decision.

IT Engineer
The interview process was fast. They're looking for senior-level skills but paying below market. 6 interviews for an associate IT job, which is unusual. 1 recruiter call, 2 HR calls, 3 hiring manager calls, each 30-60 mins. It felt like a FAANG process without the pay or perks. Lots of STAR method questions and repeats. The pay is low because they expect a big IPO, but I doubt it in this economy. Also, the first recruiter was cool but got laid off, along with others, including an IT engineer who apparently didn't work out. One hiring manager mentioned being there 2.5 years as a senior member at the company. I was initially excited but lost interest as it dragged on. Got good feedback on 5 out of 6 interviews, but not the last one. They want someone to build out the whole IT infrastructure and handle L1-L4 support for $60-70k. The interviewers were nice, but I feel for them because they won't find good talent with this process and pay.
- Can you discuss your past work experience?
- Tell me about any projects you've worked on.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a difficulty and how you resolved it?
Customer Success Manager
I got contacted on LinkedIn by an internal recruiter. The whole thing was super fast, under two weeks total, with the main interviews happening in about a week. While it was quick, it felt a bit too rushed, and they kept apologizing for it. I was told other people were already further along when they reached out to me. In hindsight, they probably already decided on them and just wanted to confirm. But, the people I talked to were nice and seemed like they'd be good colleagues. I got rejected in the last round (the presentation) because they said my answers were too high-level for vague questions and I didn't know the product well enough. I thought that was a bit unfair since you can only learn so much without actually using the products or having inside info. I don't think that feedback was honest or helpful. My advice for others: figure out where you really stand in the hiring process before you dive in. Do you have a real shot or are they just interviewing you for comparison? If it's the latter, save your time.
