The initial recruiter call felt off, like the person wasn't really into it. They mentioned the company went through bankruptcy and now has fewer brands. The next interview with the hiring manager was similar, she didn't seem very enthusiastic or knowledgeable. She also brought up the bankruptcy, layoffs, and offshoring. During the video, she had a digital background, but then a guy popped into view and flashed his backside. She noticed and tried to hide it, but couldn't. I'm hoping it was a mistake, but someone who shouldn't have been there was visible, which was super unprofessional. Both interviews just felt like red flags for the company's culture and professionalism, so I decided not to move forward.

I had a phone screen with the recruiter at Thrasio, which went well. Then I had a video interview with the hiring manager. These first two calls were really friendly. For the final round, I interviewed with two people who would be my colleagues. One of the questions asked was which position I was applying for. It felt like they didn't know what role I was interviewing for, which was weird. The vibe in the last interview felt off because the interviewers didn't seem engaged. This company used to excite me, but after recent layoffs, I'm glad I might not be joining. The interview process feels way too long for entry-level positions. Be cautious with these fast-paced startup companies.

The interview process with Thrasio was awesome! HR first reached out about a Tech Analyst role. They were super organized and on time with scheduling calls, following up, and keeping communication clear. I went through 5 interview rounds (1 screening, 4 calls with the team). The interviews focused on getting to know me and seeing if I'd fit the team. They mixed skill/experience questions with typical interview questions. I didn't get the first job because of experience, but HR contacted me a month later about this new opening, thinking I'd be a perfect fit. After a chat with my HR contact and the hiring manager, they offered me the job! It was totally unexpected but one of the easiest decisions ever – I accepted right away!

I had three interviews. After the first two, they got back to me right away to set up the next one. The second interview felt off when they described the position as very 'operational,' which isn't how people in the field see this role. The next interview only had 3 questions for me, all about SEO, and nothing about my other skills or experience. I ended up asking them more questions than they asked me, and their answers weren't clear. They kept calling the role 'operational,' which made me think they lacked experience in this area. They told me I was giving 'great answers' throughout. After the third interview, they said someone would contact me the following week, but it's been over a month, and they've ghosted me. It's unprofessional to interview someone three times and then not respond, whether it's a yes or no. Candidates deserve to know, even if a decision hasn't been made; you can tell them you're still deciding instead of ghosting.
