So the whole process kicked off with a call from the recruiting team. After that, I chatted with the hiring manager for the position. Then, I met with someone who would be a coworker from a different office and the VP for the office I was applying to. Since it was around the holidays, everything was stretched out over about three weeks. It all went pretty smoothly, and all the interviews besides the first call were done over video. Each meeting was about 30 minutes. Everyone I spoke with was really helpful, taking the time to explain the job and how it impacts the daily work at the location. They also gave me some good info about the company in general.

I went through multiple rounds of interviews and finished the final round, only to be ghosted. I didn't get any indication that I wasn't performing well, and I was ready for each interview. When I followed up, I got a generic rejection email and a note from the interviewer saying, 'unfortunately, the hiring manager didn't give me any feedback.' I'm sorry, but if you make it to the final round, you should be clearly told you didn't get the job and why. I get that this might not happen in phone screens, but this is bad for company culture. I won't apply for another job here.

The interview process was pretty standard, like others I've seen. It started with a phone screen, then a Zoom call with someone from Sales. After that, there was another Zoom chat, and it finished with an in-person interview with the manager, another Ad Ops Analyst, and the person I spoke to on Zoom. I liked how honest and down-to-earth everyone was, and I would have enjoyed working there even if I didn't get the job. The only bummer was that right after the in-person interview, I was told there was a 'good chance I was in.' They said those exact words. Two weeks later, I heard they were 'moving forward with other candidates.' I knew it wasn't an official offer and they had to check out other people, but it really got my hopes up. So, finding out I didn't get it was disappointing and felt a bit misleading. I wouldn't say something like that unless I was pretty sure or if it was a sure thing. It felt like they could have been more upfront.

The interviewers, a Sr. Director and Sr. Manager from the department, joined the video call punctually with no technical issues. After initial greetings, they inquired about my background and my motivation for applying. They also posed some insightful, behavior-focused questions. The whole interview spanned a little over an hour. I felt at ease answering their questions, conversing freely, and asking my own questions. There was no pressure or feeling of being put on the spot. Significantly, the company extended an offer just two days after the interview. I suspect a formal rejection would have also arrived within that same timeframe if the job hadn't been offered, which is appreciated as many companies either ghost candidates or delay their responses for weeks.
