First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TGI Fridays.
Restaurant Manager
I was referred to this Assistant Restaurant Manager position by a former colleague. The interview was about 30 minutes and focused on my industry experience and questions about managing people and personalities, not much on back-office work.
- How do you hold people who are also your friends accountable on your team?
Waiter
It was a very relaxed interview, and they asked good questions. It felt open and not secretive, which made me feel more at ease. I'd recommend it.
- Can you tell me about your future aspirations and education?
- What are your future goals and educational background?
Server
Met with the manager to talk about my past work. They explained the process and talked about people skills. Then I met some co-workers for a general interview. They asked what I would do in certain situations. Common questions were asked.
- Have you had prior experience in this industry?
- Can you elaborate on your previous work experience?
- What are your thoughts on the process?
Server
The interview was easy and relaxed, informal because it happened during opening hours. I was sat aside in a quiet part of the restaurant. They provided a lot of information and a tour of the restaurant so I could understand what I was getting into. They also introduced me to the shift leaders who would be doing my training with. This was helpful to put a face to the name of the people I'd be spending my first few shifts with.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- What interests you about working at TGI's?
