Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TGI Fridays.
Waitress
I interviewed with the restaurant manager, who asked me situational questions about how I'd handle customers, and also about my personality and past industry experience and jobs. It wasn't a formal interview, and afterwards I did a trail shift, shadowing a waiter on a busy Friday night.
- What's your relevant experience for this job?
Chef
We had one face-to-face interview and then a trial shift so you could get hands-on experience. Sometimes they switch it up and you do the experience before the interview.
- What experience do you have?
- Can you tell me about your previous work?
Server
The interview was easy and relaxed, informal because it happened during opening hours. I was sat aside in a quiet part of the restaurant. They provided a lot of information and a tour of the restaurant so I could understand what I was getting into. They also introduced me to the shift leaders who would be doing my training with. This was helpful to put a face to the name of the people I'd be spending my first few shifts with.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- What interests you about working at TGI's?
