Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TGI Fridays.
Senior Manager
The process starts with a screening, then a scheduled call (in-person or online) where you'll talk about your experience, why you're interested, what you understand about the role, and what you'll bring to the company. There's also a reference check.
- Can you describe your professional background?
Assistant Manager
After they got my resume, I had to do an online assessment. I didn't hear back, so I followed up and they finally set up a phone interview with HR 11 days later. They told me I was moving on to talk to the district manager, but I never heard back. I followed up again and got scheduled to meet with a GM 21 days after our last contact. The GM said I was moving forward with the District Manager as planned. Again, no follow-up. I reached out to HR twice in the next 11 days, and then got a generic email saying they'd found someone else. The whole thing took 43 days.
- Questions were pretty standard, but the interviews themselves were quite lengthy, lasting at least 90 minutes each. The GM was also 20 minutes late for the second interview.
Restaurant Manager
The interview process started well with a recruiter, then an in-store GM, and finally the Director of Ops. I was offered a job, but then the offer letter and background check were sent twice. After trying to reach out for days and being told it was the vendor's fault, they suddenly ghosted me. It's shocking that a company like this would just ghost a candidate. I applied because of a bad experience in one of their stores, thinking I could help, but I guess not. The people were nice, but the professionalism wasn't there in the end. Thanks for wasting my time.
- Can you describe a time when you resolved a negative customer experience?
