The interview process usually starts with a quick phone call from a recruiter who asks basic questions about your experience and salary expectations. After that, there is typically a technical interview where they test your skills or ask scenario-based questions. Next, you meet with the hiring manager to talk more in depth about your background and how you work in different situations. Sometimes there is also a panel interview with team members. If everything goes well, the company does reference checks and then sends a job offer.

So, the interview was a few virtual steps. First, an HR chat, then I talked to some team folks. They asked about my past work, skills that would work for this job, and what I'd do in made-up situations. It was mostly nice and professional, but it took longer than I thought. Getting updates was slow sometimes, and they didn't say much about why they decided stuff, so I had to ask a bunch to get info.

I had three interviews for the position. In the last one, the interviewers had less experience than me for the role, and the questions were pretty general about the job responsibilities and my skills. The feedback was that I didn't have experience in that specific market. It was strange because they hired someone with a very different background, related to physical training. It's confusing. I know they're hiring, but it seems like they tend to reject candidates who are overqualified. They even mentioned I was overqualified when I applied, but still moved forward with my application.

It was a long process, with 4 interviews. Started with a short SQL query to be submitted in 30 minutes, followed by a 2-hour challenge involving SQL and analyzing provided tables with a tool of my choice. Next, I had an interview with the data manager where I was asked to explain a p-value to stakeholders. The final stage was a panel interview with 4 people, surprisingly no mention of the data challenge, they just asked statistics questions like calculating the probability of coin tosses. The process felt like it assessed theoretical statistics knowledge rather than actual skills, which was very frustrating given the time commitment over a month.
