I applied to SupplyHouse via their careers page and was really excited about the company culture, remote work, and the engineering they do. The process kicked off with a HackerRank challenge that had 3 coding questions: a JavaScript hash function, a React rating component (tricky with keyboard accessibility and 0.5 increments!), and a TypeScript custom memoization function. It was tough, especially the React part, but I managed to finish all three. Next up was an HR screening, which was conducted professionally and smoothly. The recruiter asked typical questions about my experience, skills, past challenges, and motivation for joining SupplyHouse. Even though I got rejected later, I wish they'd provided feedback to help me improve. The whole process seemed organized and professional, and despite the outcome, I still have a good impression and would apply again.

So, the first thing was a quick 15-20 minute Zoom call with a recruiter. They went over what the internship would be like and just confirmed the basics like when it starts, the hours, and the pay. Then they asked me about myself, like my school stuff and past jobs, and how it all connects to HR things like getting new people started, training, and dealing with employees. We also chatted about what I want to do with my HR career down the line and if I had any favorite areas in HR I wanted to explore. I got to ask them questions at the end.

The interview went smoothly and I enjoyed talking to the interviewers. I thought everything went well until I heard nothing for a couple of weeks, and then was rejected without followup. While the rejection was kind and professional, they offered zero feedback and when I asked for any feedback, rejected to give me anything per “company policy.” Overall found the experience unprofessional and am grateful I was rejected because I found a much better opportunity with a better team elsewhere.
