First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sungard Availability Services.
Intern
It was simple, it consisted of a case study and then a presentation of it. Then there was a technical and behavioral interview. It was productive, it lasted about thirty minutes and they were kind. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
- What availability would I have for the position?
Accountant
I had 2 interviews. The first was with the manager, and it was more technical, testing my knowledge of business financials. The second interview was with the finance managers I would be working with later, specifically the FP&A manager and group analyst.
- Can you describe the typical profit and loss structure and identify the main expenditures within an IT business?
Network Engineer
I was contacted for one job role but ended up interviewing for a completely different one. This other role required working different hours and was in a different timezone, which I wasn't comfortable with. The interview itself was intense, with the entire team of 5 interviewers firing questions at me. Midway through, they mentioned it was for a role that required working nights. After the interview, I didn't receive any feedback, and I had to follow up a month later to find out I wasn't selected.
- Can you answer some technical questions?
- Can you answer some analytical questions?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Senior Copywriter
So, I had two phone interviews and then two in-person interviews with five different people. After the second in-person interviews, I got a call on July 11th offering me the job, pending a background check and drug test. We talked salary and start date, and they said I'd get more info the next day. When I didn't hear back, I called and was told about needing approval. Then I got a bunch of excuses for the delay, but they kept saying the offer was still on. Finally, on August 2nd, I found out they were interviewing other people, though they insisted I was still their top pick. It's been five weeks and nobody has bothered to call me back to let me know what's going on. They just completely ghosted me.
