First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Strata Decision Technology.
Decision Support Analyst
The interview felt like a really good chat, not super formal, which was nice. I got to talk about my experience and ask some questions, linking my skills to what they need. The interviewer was cool and seemed interested, and the overall feeling was positive. I left feeling good about the role and hopeful for the next steps.
- What's a skill you're currently developing?
Senior Network and Security Engineer
It was a four-step process. There was a panel interview where they were off-camera and I had to have my camera on. They asked general tech questions, questions about troubleshooting, and we discussed my past experiences. I interviewed with C-suite, the director, and a senior employee. The people interviewing seemed to be interested.
- How familiar are you with eBGP and iBGP?
- Can you troubleshoot issues using the OSI model?
- Describe your previous experiences.
Project Manager
I interviewed with 4-5 different managers and then interviewed with the VP. I found out they were only hiring in Chicago and I was remote elsewhere. I was disappointed because I spent a lot of time and energy on the process, including project management simulations. It would have been easier on everyone if they had set expectations initially.
- Can you walk me through a project management scenario using the fundamentals and present it?
- Tell me about your risk management approach.
- How would you deliver bad news to a customer?
Consultant
It was several rounds, starting with a screening call. The second round was a two hour zoom session. The first 45 minutes had two team members asking standard questions about my background. Then there was a 30 minute critical thinking test on a Word doc. The last 45 minutes was more conversational, reviewing my test answers, though they didn't seem too focused on the test itself. The third round was a 30 minute call with a VP. I expected a fourth call with the CEO, but never heard back from the recruiter after the VP call, so I guess I didn't move forward. The interviewers were mostly friendly and not intimidating. The recruiter was responsive until after the third round, then I was ghosted. I put a lot of time into preparing and was really excited, but getting ghosted after the VP interview was disappointing. A rejection email would have been nice. I liked the company, but I won't reapply if other roles open up.
