Software Engineer
The interview process included a phone screen, a manager panel, and then back-to-back 45-minute team interviews. These team interviews were with technical leadership and senior team members. The whole process moved pretty fast. The technical part was a systems design interview with two scenarios. You get 30 minutes to prep for both scenarios, with 15 minutes for each. After the prep, there are two 45-minute interviews where you go over the scenarios. My advice is to focus on the specific question in the scenario, not the whole system. I thought it would be about high-level system design, but it was more about implementation details, tradeoffs, and your thought process behind the design. It was a pretty good interview style, but my focus wasn't aligned with the interviewer's, and I messed up one scenario.
- Write SQL queries for some of the scenario questions.
- Design an OOP class for another scenario.
Software Engineer
I had an initial chat with the recruiter, then got scheduled for 3 interviews back-to-back. Each interview had two interviewers. The first was about designing an election machine, focusing on the database side of things. The second was about designing an elevator, using object-oriented principles. The last one was more of a cultural fit discussion. It was strange that neither of the technical interviews touched on healthcare, felt like questions for new grads, and I didn't do great, couldn't show my health insurance knowledge. Everyone was professional and the interviews went smoothly.
- How would you approach designing an elevator?
Software Engineer Intern
It was a mix of technical and non-technical interviews with multiple steps involving different teams. Some coding questions and general questions about work style were asked. My interview was conducted entirely online, though I'm not sure if that's typical or due to the pandemic.
- Can you describe your teamwork style?
