I applied for a Backend Architect role. The process included meeting the hiring manager, HR, and the VP of Engineering. There was also a take-home task and two technical interviews. The take-home was pretty simple, but the on-site interviews were longer and more detailed. The first technical interview focused on my past roles and a technical walkthrough of systems I designed and managed, plus an algorithmic problem. The second technical interview was a two-hour system design discussion where we covered three different systems with various needs and fields, along with design choices, trade-offs, and potential improvements.

I had a chat with the recruiter for about 30 minutes. Then there was a SQL interview that covered basic joins, aggregates, and window functions. Lastly, a behavioral round with about three to five questions about my past experience, projects, and education.

It was a pretty chill interview process. Started with resume questions and talking about projects. They just wanted to see that I was willing to work and learn. The founders were super chill. It was an interview with HR first, then the CEO, then the CTO. The CEO asked me why I wanted to join the company and my motivations. Since it was my first internship, I didn't have a ton to say. The CTO was also chill and just wanted to get a sense of what role I was interested in.

Behavioral Technical

I first spoke with the recruiter, and then I had a conversation with a senior electrical engineer. I felt like I answered the questions well, and they asked some good things. It was a pleasant chat with both the recruiter and the engineer. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back after that, even though I followed up a few times.
