Behavioral Technical

I had a phone call with two managers from the department for this Project Manager Intern role. They asked me some behavioral questions, and also some questions about how to do something or things I learned in school. They said they would get back to me in two weeks, but after I followed up and was told I'd hear back soon, they ended up declining me about 4 months after the interview. This was a new position, and they were only hiring 2 people.

The interview process was smooth with a panel asking a mix of technical questions and about overcoming challenges faced. Was very unimpressed to be ‘ghosted’ by the company as a student looking for a placement, especially as the company in Belfast has very close ties to my university. Rejection is ok, but not informing applicants on the outcome is unacceptable as finding a placement is difficult at the best of times and students need to know in a short space of time so they can make alternate plans. I hope that this feedback is considered on behalf of future applicants.

It was a 3 part interview process. First was a phone call competency interview with HR that lasted about 30-45 mins where they asked about my prior experience and qualifications. Second was a video chat with the Hiring Manager for about 45 mins where they asked more about my strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures. Third was an in-person Top grading interview that lasted 2 hours with 2 people, and I got a tour of the facility. The third interview involved questions about my history all the way back to high school, asking about my biggest successes and disappointments, and my expectations when going into each job.

Behavioral

The interview process was good and I got an offer letter within a month after completing all the documentations from my end. However, I later found out that I couldn't move forward with them because I don't have US citizenship, which is understandable if that's their policy. But keeping someone waiting for so long and preventing them from pursuing other opportunities is not right. My resume specifically mentions my visa status, and I even discussed it during the interview, so they had ample time to check my eligibility, but they seemed to overlook it.
