First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Spencer Stuart.
Analyst
It was pretty simple. You start with a recruiter call, then a case study take-home assignment that you'll present and get feedback on. Round three is a longer behavioral interview. Make sure you know why you want to work in this field and have a bunch of stories ready for the third round behavioral to show off your skills.
- Can you share a time you failed?
Associate
It was a very relationship-driven process. I reached out to a consultant who then connected me with the recruiter. I had a couple of calls with the recruiter and was about to start the interview process, but then they ghosted me. They were extremely friendly, but there wasn't much transparency about the process.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- What is your motivation for pursuing a role in leadership advisory?
Analyst Intern
I had a really good experience overall. It was mostly a behavioral interview, but the questions felt like they mattered and were on point. The interviewer seemed genuinely interested in me and my past, making it a good talk. The conversation just went smoothly, and it felt professional but chill, so I could share good stuff without feeling rushed or pressured.
- What makes you want to join Spencer Stuart?
Research Analyst
It started with a phone interview, a first screening call. If the company is interested, you move to the next stage. Then, there's another interview via Microsoft Teams where you learn more about the job's responsibilities. Finally, the last interview stage involves meeting the manager, who will let you know if you've been selected for the position, or if you've advanced to the next phase.
