First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SP Group.
Software Engineer
It was pretty straightforward. They asked about my university projects and what I'm keen on learning. I'll be talking to two people: the team lead and a team member from the specific team.
- Could you tell me about your university projects and how you managed stress?
- What responsibilities did you have during your university projects and how did you cope with stress?
Engineer
There will be 1 or 2 face-to-face interviews, depending on the interviewer. HR will contact you on WhatsApp first to set up an interview at HQ. It should take about 45 minutes.
- Could you please introduce yourself?
- Tell me about what you know regarding the company's background.
- And what do you know about the role you've applied for?
Intern
It was a pretty standard interview process. They ask the usual questions, like why you want to join and what you know about the role and the company. For more specialized roles, they ask job-specific questions. They also check if you're okay with the location. The tech test involves some simple logic-based questions asked on the spot. The administrative part of the process takes longer than usual, though.
- Tell us what you know about the company and why you're interested in joining.
- What are your motivations for applying?
- What's your understanding of this specific role?
Software Engineer
After a referral, the recruiter contacted me about a coding challenge. I had to finish it by a specific date, and I was told to limit my work to 12 hours maximum. I needed to set up a Github repo and give the engineers access once I was done. However, it's been 4 months, and I still haven't heard back; the engineers' invitations are still pending. I would understand if my code wasn't good enough and they decided not to proceed, but they never said anything. It seems like a total waste of time and effort if the engineers never even looked at the code. It feels really disrespectful to the candidate and shows a lack of professionalism in how they handle recruitment.
- Could you implement a simple API?
