Senior Financial Analyst
The interview process was efficient and consisted of an introductory screening call from a Talent Acquisition member, a virtual meeting with the hiring manager and a second final interview with the hiring manager. The entire process was completed within 21 days from the initial call to employment offer. Enough time was given from acceptance of offer to actual start date to allow the candidate to receive their equipment.
- If one of your team members was behind schedule and not able to meet their deadline, how would you handle this and would you be able to step in to help them complete their task ?
Account Executive
I got referred by an employee and heard back in 2 hours. It was during the holidays, so things were slow, and it took 3 weeks to set up the interview on a Friday. I thought it would be about my background, but the recruiter spent 27 minutes talking about the company and their offerings, which was nice. Near the end, she asked two general questions about my recent experience and mentioned the next steps would be meeting the hiring manager and the start date. But then, I checked my candidate portal and saw they rejected me on Monday. No email, nothing. I feel like I didn't get a real shot, and I'm bummed because I've heard great things about Softchoice.
- Can you describe a typical day in your last role and how performance was tracked?
Sales
I initially thought the company was very upfront because after a phone call where we chatted about my background, they immediately set up a video meeting with a manager. During the interview, the manager barely looked at the camera, making it hard to tell if he was uninterested or just multitasking. He was practically facing sideways. After that, I had to follow up to find out that the hiring for the role was paused. It felt like a waste of time, and I don't think they handled the process very respectfully.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at Softchoice?
Executive Assistant
had an interview end of October, was told a second interview will be scheduled. Heard nothing so I followed up and was advised they were reviewing internal candidates with more experience (understand also interviewing within). Again did not hear back and followed up and was told I would hear back. To this day, still no updates on this role or acknowledgment. I would suggest not mentioning a second interview if not clear on next steps and would provide updates to candidates who have had an interview. Does not leave a good impression and would not be applying to any new roles of interest in the future.
- Could you share more about your background and experience?
