Weirdly casual and unprofessional communication from HR, like texting. The interviewer asked about expected salary but refused to disclose a range after I responded, even though the job listing didn't mention it. They also asked about overtime and plainly stated that ongoing support for night shift workers after office hours is expected, without mentioning overtime compensation. They kept bringing up my lack of relevant industry experience, which is fair, but if it was that essential, it should have been a pre-requisite on the job listing. It feels disorganized.

It was a 1-hour interview, mostly technical. Started with basic RF and Analog Circuit questions. They asked about the Smith chart and impedance matching. Also asked about 5 OTAs and parasitic capacitors in MOSFETs. The interview went well, and they asked about specific LNA design specs from one of my resume projects.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Could you explain the Smith chart and related impedance matching concepts?
  • What are the 5 OTAs you're familiar with?
  • Regarding MOSFETs, what are the parasitic capacitances involved?

I applied in June and heard back in August for a phone screen. The hiring manager conducted it because the recruiter left. We covered basic info, and I asked about the process timeline. The conversation was neutral as we didn't discuss the job much. There hasn't been any follow-up since. I still get job alerts from them, and my application status is 'under review,' though I doubt it. The role was reposted two weeks ago, so it's likely still open.
