I was first contacted by Randstad via LinkedIn, and then had an initial HR call with them. After that, I had another HR call, this time with Siemens Mobility. Following that, there were two technical interviews. The first was with team leads based in Portugal, where I verbally explained my technical knowledge. The second technical interview was with managers based in Germany, and again, I explained my knowledge verbally.

The interview process involved an AI video interview, which felt very impersonal. Since you just record yourself answering questions, there was no feedback during the interview. The time allotted between questions was minimal, and the platform itself was buggy. I had to ask for another interview session because I encountered issues using it.

It was a long process that took nearly 3 months. The recruiter reached out to me after 2 months of application and there was 2 levels after that lasted around 1.5 months. The total interview process was included a hiring manager review and technical session at london office. Both went well and the manager promised to give a callback within 1 week. But they ghosted me after the whole process without updating about the outcome.

For IT and Cybersecurity roles, it usually starts with an initial CV screening, where a recruiter checks technical experience, certifications, etc. If you move forward, they contact you for a first online technical interview where they assess your knowledge of frameworks like NIST, SIEM tools, incident management, and previous experience in IT or OT environments. In a second technical stage, you participate in an interview with a panel of experts (usually two or three people), where they might present you with a practical case or ask you to explain how you would design controls, architecture, cloud, etc. In my opinion, the process was a bit long, it can take between one and three months from applying, depending on holidays, vacations, etc.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you elaborate on your knowledge of frameworks like NIST, SIEM tools, incident management, and your prior experience in IT or OT environments?
  • For a practical scenario, could you explain how you would design controls, architecture, and cloud security measures?
