First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Siegel+Gale.
Brand Designer Intern
There were 2 rounds in total. The first was a recruiter screening call, and the second was with the head art directors for the internship program. They were super communicative and helpful, and didn't ghost. They responded within a week after the initial email.
- Could you discuss a project from your portfolio that you are particularly proud of?
Associate Director
Got a message from a recruiter on LinkedIn and we chatted briefly about my experience. Then, I had a 30-minute call with the department director to go over my background and experience again. After that, I had to put together a presentation of my past work. The final step was an interview with a senior executive before they made me an offer. The whole thing took about 3-4 weeks.
- The interview felt conversational.
- I spent the most time on the presentation of some previous work.
- Some candidates for insights roles may be asked to analyze data and present those findings rather than presenting their previous work.
Strategist
I was chatting directly with the recruiter via messages. They rescheduled our interview once, then we had a brief chat, mainly about my background and my motivation for joining them. After the chat, I had to follow up to check on my application status. The recruiter mentioned I didn't meet some of the official requirements, so I sent over more documents and proof, but heard nothing back, so I had to text again. I asked if my documents were sufficient, but still no reply. After one more attempt, she informed me they were proceeding with other candidates. I didn't get a prompt response, nor any clear reason why I wasn't a good fit for the role – whether it was due to my documents or my experience.
- What makes you want to work for this agency?
Naming Strategist
Had a Recruiter Phone Call, then a silly writing task called a Bio Blurb for the Group Director. After that, there was a Project/Assignment, followed by a Panel Interview and Presentation. Things went badly: 1) The recruiter was 15 minutes late and didn't apologize. 2) The group seemed low-energy and uninterested in a new hire. 3) I got ghosted after a long, boring interview process.
