I was chatting directly with the recruiter via messages. They rescheduled our interview once, then we had a brief chat, mainly about my background and my motivation for joining them. After the chat, I had to follow up to check on my application status. The recruiter mentioned I didn't meet some of the official requirements, so I sent over more documents and proof, but heard nothing back, so I had to text again. I asked if my documents were sufficient, but still no reply. After one more attempt, she informed me they were proceeding with other candidates. I didn't get a prompt response, nor any clear reason why I wasn't a good fit for the role – whether it was due to my documents or my experience.

The process was pretty straightforward but took longer than it should have. First, a recruiter called me, then I had a call with the hiring director. Finally, I had to do a project and then present it to the team over video. It was disappointing when I put a lot of effort into a presentation for senior team members, but they were totally disengaged and uninterested during it. It's disheartening to see interviewers not even looking at their screens while someone is presenting. The lack of respect I experienced made it clear that S+G isn't a place I want to build my career. A heads-up for other candidates: know your worth and look for opportunities at companies where egos are managed and professionalism is actually valued.

Behavioral Presentation

I was invited to the office to chat with some people. I wasn't sure if it was a formal interview, so I wore business casual and went in to talk about branding. This casual first meeting was a nice change from the intimidating interactions most companies start with. We discussed branding and I was asked the usual branding questions, but we also talked about my life and extracurriculars. My interviewers were interested in my whole life and experiences, not just work, which I really liked. It made me feel confident that this company values more than just what's on paper, which I think is important. Overall, I liked this interview process the most because it was relatively comfortable and the interviewers were genuinely interested in me as a person.
