Marketing Assistant
It started with a phone screening, then I interviewed with the head of marketing. They hired me right away. The interview was pretty straightforward. I had a day to decide, and I took the offer and they sent me a contract.

Marketing Secretary
It was a super short and formal interview with the CEO. They told me to call back the next day at 4 PM for feedback. Then, I was given a random tour and had another interview with a different person for a job I didn't even apply for. I decided not to call back because it seemed like a weird workplace.
- Can you share some information about yourself and your experience?
Receptionist
So I applied online and after about a week I had a phone call screen which was pretty standard. Then I was invited for an interview where they first made me sit for a general knowledge test. It was basic math and English, which was a bit weird for that stage. After that, I had a long talk with a manager, and then they asked me to come back for a second interview. The next week, I met another lady who asked some personal questions that weren't really related to the job. After that, I had to stay for another hour to meet with someone from HR. During the second interview, they also mentioned the low salary they wanted to offer and told me about performance targets for bonuses. They called afterwards saying they liked me and wanted to offer me the job, but wanted me to do a trial day first. I ended up declining the offer because of the interview process and the salary, and took a job elsewhere.

Secretary
Applied through Seek and got a call pretty fast for an interview the next day. Got an email with dress code details (jacket, stockings, heels) and info about a problem-solving and spelling test. Was surprised by negative Glassdoor reviews, then saw positive ones that seemed fake. At the office, I had 12 mins for the problem-solving/spelling test, which felt pointless. Then interviewed with a Manager who said she wasn't the actual manager and they were hiring a whole new team, which was weird. Didn't like that I wouldn't meet my future manager. The temp manager had a long list of questions and didn't take notes, just asked question after question. She seemed distracted, skipped questions she found silly, and didn't ask me to elaborate. Felt like she decided quickly I wasn't the one or just didn't care. She stressed the company's punctuality rules (arrive at 8:15 for 8:30 start) and mentioned unpaid overtime past 5:30 pm. Talked about the dress code again, even though she wasn't wearing the required jacket. The role seemed more about selling to clients than admin. Noticed they hire a lot and have high turnover. Glad I didn't get the job after reading reviews and my experience.
