First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sekisui House U.S., Inc..
Analyst
The interview process at Richmond American Homes was more conversational, with surprisingly few direct interview-style questions. I first met with the hiring manager, followed by the division director, and finally the regional director. Each person I spoke with was professional, respectful, and genuinely interested in learning about my background and goals. The process took about four weeks from initial outreach to final conversation.
- What makes you want to work in this position?
Sales Support
HR was really responsive and there were several interviews. The screening process took a while, with three interviews spread over a month. The lengthy process made the waiting period tough and less engaging. The HR rep was really informative and kept me engaged throughout. It just ended up taking longer than I expected.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
Purchasing Agent
It was a pretty standard process: first, a screening with the recruiter. Then, an interview with the hiring manager. They usually don't do a third round, but they had me come back to interview with the VP. He seemed disengaged, using his phone for questions, offered a weak handshake, and admitted he hadn't reviewed my resume, asking me to present it.
- How does your background align with this position?
- So, convince me to hire you.
Sales Associate
The second interviewer was late, and both interviewers were on their phones for the first 5 minutes of the meeting. The questions were typical, but the delivery from one interviewer was not. When I mentioned I was interviewing with other builders and declined to name them, her demeanor became challenging and dismissive, which threw me off. I wouldn't want to work with her, so maybe bombing the interview was a good thing.
- Can you describe your sales process?
