First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SalonCentric.
Sales Account Executive
After an initial online interview, I was invited for an in-person one. I arrived on time, but the interviewer made me wait as they settled in. The questions seemed random and I had to ask for clarification on the job and its duties.
- Can you tell me where you live to assess your commute to our furthest service area?
Sales Associate
The interview process was easy and comfortable, and everyone seemed nice. I just finished an interview and have accepted the job. I haven't received a start date yet and was just curious about other reviews of the job.
- What would you do if you saw a colleague acting improperly?
Sales Consultant
I applied through L'Oreal's website. The HR manager reached out a few weeks later to schedule a phone interview. A few weeks after that, the HR manager contacted me again to set up an in-person interview with the RVP. It seemed to go well, and at the end, they said I'd move to the next step. The next day, I got an email with an assessment. The start of the assessment had easy questions about scenarios and personality. The last three parts involved basic algebra, word problems, and analogies.
- Can you outline your strategy for increasing sales in the territory you'd be assigned?
- How comfortable are you with interacting with others?
- Would you describe yourself as shy?
Communications and Marketing Coordinator
Before my interview, I had to fill out this super long form about my work history. It wanted every tiny detail like employer names, addresses, phone numbers, my past titles, pay details, bonus info, supervisor contacts, dates, duties, and reasons for leaving. I really don't like sharing my salary history, especially when they don't tell you what the job pays, but it said not to fill it out meant disqualification, so I did it. The interview itself seemed okay. I talked to two women and they asked some basic questions about my past jobs and what I'd done. It was mostly a nice chat. I felt like I had a good shot at moving to the next round because we clicked and they seemed engaged. I sent a thank you email afterward, hoping for good news. But, I heard nothing. About three weeks later, I followed up. They must have passed my email along because someone from HR replied saying I wasn't selected. I kind of figured, but wished they'd told me sooner. It was a bummer to put in all that effort, filling out the form, paying for childcare, and then just get ghosted after they decided they didn't need me. I really hope SalonCentric and other companies that don't tell candidates their status reconsider this practice.
- Can you tell us about your experience in this area?
- What were your responsibilities in that role?
