Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SalonCentric.
Sales Associate
The interview process was easy and comfortable, and everyone seemed nice. I just finished an interview and have accepted the job. I haven't received a start date yet and was just curious about other reviews of the job.
- What would you do if you saw a colleague acting improperly?
Sales Associate
I submitted an online application and heard back from the store manager about two weeks later to schedule an interview for the following week. I got there a bit early to complete some paperwork, like my availability, contact details, past jobs, and a skills summary. Once I was done, the manager started the interview in the back room. It felt pretty chill and I felt comfortable talking with her. She explained the store's business, their target customers, shared her own experiences with the company, and detailed the role's responsibilities. At the end, she mentioned a potential call from the District Manager if they decided to move forward. I didn't get that call, so I assume they chose someone with more experience.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
- How would you handle specific scenarios?
Sales Associate
The whole hiring thing took about four months. I sent in my application through the L'Oreal site and also dropped off my resume at the store. For about a week, nothing. So I called. Then I called the corporate office. I had to go back in to fill out another application, but it took three weeks before they'd even let me do that. After that, it was another two and a half months and two pretty weird interviews before they finally hired me. A lot of that was probably because of how much people leave. The district manager and store manager were both new.
- Given a dozen workplace scenarios, how would you handle them?
- How would you approach these hypothetical workplace situations?
