First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ryan Homes.
Sales Consultant
It starts with a recruiter call about the job, then you take a personality test for behavioral stuff, and finally, a phone chat with the hiring manager to see if you're qualified and a good fit for the team.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Describe a situation where you dealt with an angry customer.
- Share an instance where you went above and beyond what your manager expected.
Project Manager
The interview process was quite lengthy, involving many different people, which sometimes made it feel a bit repetitive. I had to complete an assessment and then go through a phone interview. After that, there was a waiting period of a few weeks before I had a second, in-person interview.
- Can you describe a time you experienced a miscommunication with a customer and explain how you resolved it?
Sales Associate
I met with both of the sales managers, one at the main office and the other at a Starbucks that was convenient for both of us. They asked me to call some sales consultants and visit a community in person. They wanted it to be a good fit for me as much as they were interviewing that I was right for the role.
- What's a key takeaway from your past job that you can apply here?
- How quickly can you adjust when things change?
Draftsman
We kicked things off with an initial chat with two managers. We talked about the company's vibe, what they're looking for, their future plans, and basically, they got to know my background. After that, I did an online personality test. Then, I came back for another interview with the department head and a business manager. The final step was a one-on-one with the drafting supervisor. They showed me their CAD workflow, and I got to show them what I can do with drafting.
- Tell me about a time you encountered a problem at work and how you resolved it.
