First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rush University Medical Center.
Clinical Research Coordinator I
The interview process was straightforward, with two main stages. It started with a recruiter call, then progressed to HR and manager interviews, each lasting about 30 minutes. The entire process took three weeks to complete. This seemed like a good opportunity for someone just starting out.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this position?
Clinic Coordinator
I had a call with a recruiter, and then went through 3 interviews. They asked me a bunch of questions about what I've done and what I can do. Some were like 'what would you do if...'. I also got to see the unit and meet the people who work there. They asked a lot about my last job and how I could help with what they're dealing with right now.
- What motivates your interest in this position?
- Could you explain your background and expertise?
- How would you approach a given scenario?
Program Coordinator
When I applied, there was a 114 question assessment that was required. It took a few weeks for someone to contact me, but the interviews felt pretty disorganized. A dean was supposed to be in the first one but didn't show. We rescheduled for a second interview so they could meet me, and they canceled that too. Then, after meeting with them a total of 3 times, the school just ghosted me.
- Can you describe your working style, whether you prefer working independently or collaboratively?
Application Analyst
I contacted an external recruiter about an Application Analyst (Tier 3) role with Rush University's University Applications team. I got an interview with the team. They asked me a lot of non-technical questions, especially about stakeholder interaction. Two days later, they rejected me because I lacked the required 7 years of experience. This process was flawed because they interviewed me without checking my resume for the experience requirements, asked no technical questions despite requiring technical experience, and ultimately wasted my time.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with stakeholders and how you interact with non-technical people?
