The first step was a chat with HR, which was pretty straightforward, basically covering what was already on the website. The person interviewing me was great and punctual. It was about a 20-minute call.

In late August, I was contacted by an HR recruiter to set up an in-person interview. I met with two Principal Investigators for about an hour. They asked me questions about my background and the job. That same evening, I was asked to do a 5-person reference check. About a month later, the HR recruiter let me know I was still a top candidate. I followed up five times with the PIs and HR, but I haven't heard back. It was not a good interview experience.
