I got to my interview early and was interviewed right at the cash register in front of a cashier. It was super short, maybe 5 minutes, and they just asked me some general questions. Then they asked if I had any questions for them, and that was it.

It was a first round phone call followed by a video interview. The interviewer was interested the entire time, and I felt like it was a waste of time. I did not get an offer because they were looking for someone who uses their internal system, which should have been divulged upfront.

So, I had this kind of weird interview experience. It was four rounds total. The interviews themselves were alright, but after each one, the recruiter would call me to talk about salary expectations. Like, I get talking salary on the first call with the recruiter and maybe when they're about to offer you the job, but this recruiter talked salary after literally every step. I'm not sure if it was a tactic to get me to lower my expectations or if they were just disorganized. After the four rounds, the recruiter called to say they were interested in offering me the job but wanted to discuss salary *again*. I told him my minimum, and he said he could make it work. He said he'd call the next day with an offer or to discuss more. It's been over a month and radio silence. Thankfully, I got another offer the same day that met my requirements. Oh, and this job was listed as remote, but they asked me to relocate, which I was open to. Everyone I interviewed with (except the recruiter) seemed to think they were staying remote. I got the impression there were some back-to-office plans they knew about but weren't sharing widely, which felt off. Overall, it just felt very disorganized.

All interviews were virtual except the one with my direct supervisor. I also did a walk-through of a store with a regional director where we discussed expectations.
