I applied online through Indeed and the interview process was super easy. Within 3 days of applying, I got a call to set up an interview. I interviewed with the full-time Assistant Manager because the store manager was busy. The store manager called me back within 4 days to set up an interview with the District Manager. The interviews were really short, like 10-15 minutes. The store manager called me back within a week to see if I was still interested. They ask you questions based on your experience.

I first submitted my interest online, and about a month later, I got a call for an in-person interview with the store manager. A few days after that, I went in, filled out a paper application, and we chatted outside the store. She asked me questions about customer service, sales goals, visual merchandising, and loss prevention, noting that rue21 is a high-theft store and managers need to know about shrink. Right after that interview, the store manager set up another interview for the next day with the district manager. He asked the same questions, which made it easier since I knew what to expect. They offered me the job the day after that.

You can apply online, but to get the application to the store you want, you should apply in store. The SM reviews applications weekly and calls to set up an interview. If you apply for a management position, you will interview twice. First with the SM, then with the DM if the SM wants you in the store. After the interview, it can take up to a week to know if you got the job or not. If so, you come in and fill out the new hire paperwork.
