It was pretty straightforward, started with a phone screening, then I had two video calls with the owner. They asked about my sales process and management background. They explained the role is D2D sales.

Behavioral Presentation

I got contacted by a recruiter from Richard Allen's New Britain, PA branch last Wednesday. The job description and the initial phone call were both pretty vague, but it seemed like I wouldn't be talking to clients directly and would be more of a behind-the-scenes person. I decided to go ahead and set up an on-site interview for the next day. I told the HR person I was coming from four hours away because I was looking to move to the area. I got there on Thursday morning and the waiting room was packed. I ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes. The actual interview lasted maybe five minutes. They said the job was for marketing for telecommunications companies, and a typical workday would involve visiting and recruiting clients. After they asked me a few personality questions, they sent me out and said I'd hear back that same day. Thankfully, I had other things to do in the area, otherwise I would've been pretty annoyed about driving so far for such a short interview. I got a call from their HR rep later that afternoon and they invited me back for today (Monday). She mentioned the only time slot available was 5:15 PM, which I thought was a weird time. I agreed to it. But over the weekend, something about the company and the position just didn't feel right, so I decided to check out some reviews. I quickly decided to cancel my interview. I emailed their HR department this morning, and I haven't gotten a response yet. If you're into sales, this could be a good fit, but I'd definitely check out the negative reviews and see how many people found them helpful. It also struck me as odd that their website shows four locations (two in PA, two in NY), but based on reviews on Glassdoor and Indeed, they actually have more offices.

I talked to the HR Manager on the phone. She told me where and when the interview was and gave me a basic rundown of the job. The next day, I went in to meet the manager in White Plains for about 25 minutes. He talked about the company's past and its future plans. He also explained the day-to-day tasks. I was invited back for a full day of interviews on the second round. I spent the day with an executive who helped me really get what the company is about, the job they're offering, and how I could grow and what the pay is like. I got the job offer a few days later.

Behavioral Other

The first interview is just a pre-screening that lasts about 20 minutes. The person basically just reviews your resume and asks a few questions to get to know more about you and decide whether or not you should be called back for a second interview. The second interview is about an hour long and is more in-depth about the position. It is not so much a back an forth conversation, rather the interviewer describing the levels of promotion within the company, the responsibilities and duties of each, and also salary. After that interview you are asked to take a quick survey, which is comprised of questions that were discussed during the interview - I guess in order to make sure you understood what was being said. The interviewers were extremely nice but this is a door-to-door sales position that essentially pays you $10/hour for your first 2-6 weeks (before performance money included).
