First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Reinsurance Group of America.
Actuarial Associate
The interview process involved one initial screening call followed by three one-hour interviews. The interviews covered standard behavioral questions and some technical aspects. My previous work experience was also a topic of discussion. The interviewers were approachable and easy to communicate with.
- Could you please introduce yourself?
- Can you tell us more about your relevant experience?
Business Analyst Intern
First, there was an HR call where they asked basic stuff like my availability, what I know about the company, and to rate my skills. Then, I had an Excel Assessment. Lastly, I had an online interview with someone from the department, likely my supervisor, who asked general questions about my strengths, weaknesses, knowledge of the company, and my achievements.
- What are your key strengths and weaknesses?
- What's your understanding of our company?
- How do you manage stress?
QA Manager
Applied through the company site and a recruiter contacted me for a screening. The recruiter called way before the scheduled time, and when I mentioned it, they insisted they were on time and I was mistaken, even though I had the email. During the screening, the recruiter talked a lot, saying it's a great company without details. The pay was low but benefits seemed good, so I continued. The next step was a panel interview, and I was told to expect an update soon. A week later, I got an invite for a specific date and time without them asking for my availability. The invite mentioned it's hard to find a time for everyone and asked for my flexibility. Luckily, the time worked for me. The panelists were nice, but since the company wanted representation from various groups, most questions weren't directly related to the role; only one was. A week after that, I got another invite without my availability being requested. This was the final round, a behavioral screening, which felt very old-fashioned. The interviewer said I did great and would recommend an offer. But then I was ghosted, and the recruiter didn't respond to my messages.

I first spoke with a recruiter, and then a few days later, I had a second interview with the hiring lead. The lead started the meeting by saying, "I was expecting a blonde," which wasn't said humorously. She had a 30-minute hard stop, so we started right away. Unfortunately, a technical glitch froze the meeting. I rejoined, but the vp had already left. I told the recruiter we couldn't finish and asked for the hiring manager's email. I emailed her to explain what happened and that I was still interested. No response. I also messaged her on LinkedIn. Still no response. I sent two more emails to the recruiter. Nothing. After a few days, I got an automated rejection email. They showed no consideration for the candidate experience.
