Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
So, the interview process usually has four parts. The first two rounds are gonna be coding challenges, you know, stuff with arrays, hashmaps, strings, and then some general manual testing and Selenium questions. Round three, you'll chat with a director. They'll give you a coding question, but it's more about your logic, not so much complex data structures, and you'll talk more about general testing stuff. The last part is the HR round, which is pretty standard, not much to prep for. Just a heads up on salary talks, HR might act like it's weird to negotiate pay, just stay cool, stand your ground, and tell them what you're really worth.
- Can you move all the 0s to the end and all the 1s to the beginning in an array containing only 0s and 1s?
Software Development Engineer in Test
So the interview process was pretty technical all the way through. First, there was a Technical Round with the Team Lead where I had to write code to reverse a string, plus some data structures and a logic puzzle. Then, the Managerial Round involved a programming task to find and optimize duplicate handling in a string, with some design and optimization follow-ups. Lastly, the Final Round with the QA Practice Head felt disorganized; it jumped straight into technical questions, sometimes without fully understanding my answers, and then veered into inappropriate personal questions about my background, castism, and family finances, which felt unprofessional and irrelevant.
- Can you write code to reverse a string?
- What do you know about data structures?
- What testing methodologies are you familiar with?
Intern
The interview process was split into three phases, plus an online assessment. The first round was a technical interview done online. The second round was also a technical interview, but it was offline and on-campus. The third round was a mix of technical and HR. There was also an online assessment.
- Can you tell me about your project?
- Could you ask some SQL queries related to the project?
- Could you ask some simple to medium level DSA questions?
Software Engineer
The interview at redBus was quite involved, with several steps to check out both technical skills and how I solve problems. First up was Round 1, which was Aptitude and Coding, mixing general aptitude stuff with some coding challenges. Then came Round 2, a Technical Interview done online via Google Meet, focusing on data structures and algorithms, and also database design and talking about my projects. Round 3 was another Technical Interview, this time offline, where they really dug into my projects' technical details, threw more DSA questions at me, and even a puzzle to test my thinking. Finally, Round 4 was a mix of HR and Technical, also offline. They asked about my background, my roles in college, a DSA problem, more puzzles, and if I could move to Bangalore.
- Can you detect cycles in a linked list?
- Write a function to defragment and check if a URL is valid given certain conditions.
- How would you implement a modified LRU cache?
