The interview mainly covered fundamental computer science topics, including object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts, variations between different programming languages, and subjects detailed in my resume. They also posed a couple of straightforward data structure and algorithm questions.

The interview at redBus was quite involved, with several steps to check out both technical skills and how I solve problems. First up was Round 1, which was Aptitude and Coding, mixing general aptitude stuff with some coding challenges. Then came Round 2, a Technical Interview done online via Google Meet, focusing on data structures and algorithms, and also database design and talking about my projects. Round 3 was another Technical Interview, this time offline, where they really dug into my projects' technical details, threw more DSA questions at me, and even a puzzle to test my thinking. Finally, Round 4 was a mix of HR and Technical, also offline. They asked about my background, my roles in college, a DSA problem, more puzzles, and if I could move to Bangalore.

Technical System Design Coding Behavioral

The whole interview process took about two weeks. There were three rounds in total, and they all seemed to go really well since I nailed the technical puzzles and the interviewers looked convinced. They were super friendly and helped clarify stuff when I needed it. What was bad though: 1) They never gave any feedback, so I had no clue what I did right or wrong. Had to chase HR for updates on whether I was moving forward. 2) One of the interviewers totally no-showed for a meeting, wasting my whole day. Again, had to push HR for info. 3) Usually, if you do great in a product company interview, you're in. But RedBus HR ghosted me after three technical rounds where I performed exceptionally well. Their final response was: "Your candidature is on hold as of now. We are evaluating some more candidates. I can give you an update by this weekend." Then nothing. They wasted my time if someone else was already hired. It makes me wonder what the criteria are if performance isn't key. You'd have better luck at Expedia or Amazon with the same performance!
