So at the end of 2022, I had an initial chat with HR, then a take-home assignment, and finally a group interview with some of the success team folks. It was pretty chill overall, but I didn't get the job. Honestly, it wasn't a shocker because I'd mentioned my salary expectations (60k USD min) early on, and they were already stretching to let me proceed, so I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Behavioral Other

After applying for the role, I had to complete a writing assignment that took a really long time. Then, there were two interviews. The first one felt unprofessional because the interviewer admitted they had no experience, so I ended up asking most of the questions about the job. The second 'interview' was actually just a discussion about the time commitment for the position, which made me think I was getting an offer. I invested a lot of time and effort over a few months, only to be emailed that the role was going in a different direction and the position I applied for no longer existed. They didn't even respond when I asked for feedback, completely ghosting me. It felt like a massive waste of my time and effort, showing a lack of respect for candidates.

I had two phone interviews, and then an in-person interview at their office. The in-person interview was pretty basic, mostly asking about my background and why I wanted to join the company. It was super frustrating though because they ghosted me after the interview and I never found out if I got rejected. They also seemed really disorganized; my in-person interview even got rescheduled on the day I was already traveling to their office.

So, the interview process was pretty set. I started by sending in my portfolio and a cover letter. Then, HR reached out for an initial chat where we went over my past work. After that, I had another interview with the Marketing Director and the creative team. They actually had me do a written assignment based on a made-up brief to check out my writing style and how creative I am. The whole thing wrapped up in about two weeks.
