I was interviewed for a contract role with one of Pyramid's clients in Chicago. First, I spoke with a recruiter in Texas at Pyramid. Then, the recruiter passed me to their client. We talked about my skills and experience, which seemed to be a good fit for the job. I asked the client directly if they had any concerns about me moving forward, and they said no, that my background fit the role well. I was told I'd hear back by last Wednesday before the holiday break. The recruiter took forever to respond, and when she finally did, she told me I didn't get the job. It felt like she was trying to ghost me after saying I'd hear back. She didn't try to find out why I wasn't selected or pass that info along last week. She even said spending time with her family was more important than finishing her work week.

I started with an assessment, which was pretty easy. After that, there was a group GDPI, and whoever did well moved on to the interview with the director. My interview with the director lasted about 30-40 minutes, and it was a nice, easy discussion. The director seemed really interested in getting to know me as a person and understanding my goals.

The interview process started with a phone screen with HR, covering standard questions and experience. Then there was a video call with the Hiring Manager, who was looking for specific experience related to the role, and if you hadn't done that exact thing before, you wouldn't be hired. This was followed by a video with a Sr. Leader, another video with a Senior Leader, and finally another video with the Hiring Manager.

This was a really weird, unprofessional, and awful interview experience. The recruiter was super pushy and didn't call back when they said they would, and then didn't even apologize. When I declined the offer because it all seemed shady, the recruiter sent a passive-aggressive message basically saying they know better. They were also confusing about whether it was a contract or full-time role. Definitely stay away from this one.
