It was a chatty, competency, and motivation-based interview. They asked very few questions and everyone was super nice, which helped me relax. If you've got the basics of competencies down, you'll be good to go. No tricky stuff, but who knows, it might change.

We mostly recruit new associates from on campus interviews for law students. You really have to be top of class to get in, as we pride ourselves on taking the best of the best. After the on campus interview, you'll have a day-long series of interviews at our office with different members of the recruiting committee, including partners and associates.

I had an 'interview' with an HR person where we talked about pay, benefits, and time off. After that, I had a 1-on-1 with a software engineer who didn't seem very engaged in the interview. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up after that. I did try reaching out to the recruiter again, but I never heard back.

It started with a recruiter screening call over Zoom. Then, there were four 30-minute Zoom interviews: first with the hiring manager, then another with the hiring manager to discuss things more deeply, and also 1:1s with the skip-level leader and a team member. Everyone was really nice and kept things casual and enjoyable. I was made to understand that staff are seen as less important than attorneys, and all staff are grouped as 'admins,' meaning you might have to drop everything to help an attorney or partner if asked, since they apparently view all staff similarly or as inferior. This is pretty standard for professional services firms, so keep that in mind if you're interviewing for a staff position. I was told I was one of the top two candidates, but after the final round, I was ghosted, so I guess they chose the other person.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Would you be alright with performing various types of work and tasks?
  • Are you fully aware that the role might involve low-level tasks at times, especially when compared to your previous higher-level work experience?
  • Would you be comfortable stepping in to do any tasks as requested by a partner or attorney?
