We mostly recruit new associates from on campus interviews for law students. You really have to be top of class to get in, as we pride ourselves on taking the best of the best. After the on campus interview, you'll have a day-long series of interviews at our office with different members of the recruiting committee, including partners and associates.

I had a really strange initial screening with Perkins. It felt like I barely got to talk because the interviewer kept mentioning a different local law school so many times, I thought maybe they thought I went there. When I mentioned I didn't, it was clear they knew where I attended, but seemed to think the other school was better. I've never had a screener like that before, and I'm not surprised I didn't get further.

I had a lengthy virtual interview, lasting over 4 hours, due to current circumstances. It involved multiple panels, each with a partner and an associate. While the video format made things a bit awkward, the overall vibe was that I needed to prove my worth to them, rather than them needing to convince me of their firm's value, which seems reasonable given their reputation.
